    *****

Made from certified organic shea butter, certified organic sunflower oil, certified organic peppermint essential oil, and certified organic eucalyptus (radiata) essential oil, this light, whipped cream is perfect to use as face moisturizer after cleansing, lotion everywhere your skin needs extra nourishment and moisture, or even as a tattoo aftercare product.

Sunflower oil and shea butter both have 0 rating in terms of comedogenic ratings. This means that they will not clog your pores. Sunflower oil also penetrates your skin with oleic acid (omega-9 fatty acid) helping to maintain proper natural moisture levels, but it also has a thin viscosity and absorbs quickly so your skin is not left feeling greasy. Shea butter is much creamier and imparts long lasting moisture as it absorbs into your skin. A little goes a long way with this product!

Peppermint essential oil has a strong naturally occurring scent. It’s minty while also having naturally occurring menthol. Menthol helps you feel a cooling sensation on your skin. It too has a thin viscosity helping speed skin absorption.

Eucalyptus radiata essential oil is typically considered to be a bit milder and thus somewhat safer than other eucalyptus varieties. This one has a lightly sweet scent but still reminiscent of the scent of camphor. As with the other oils in this cream, it has a thin viscosity as well.

I love to use this cream daily as my face moisturizer after using Island Ash Moisturizing Cleanser. My skin is always left feeling soft and clean, never greasy like other moisturizers that I’ve tried. Due to the peppermint and eucalyptus combination I also use this to aid with nausea during migraines. The 0 comedogenic ratings of ingredients mean that I can feel safe putting it along the back of my neck, behind my ears, or even across my stomach in order to ease feelings of nausea. It does not make my severe migraines dissipate entirely, but it certainly helps me feel more functional and able to carry along easier with my daily activities.

DISCLAIMER: I am not a medical professional, just someone who is looking for natural alternatives for my own and my family’s well-being. We use all products that I make or I would not be willing to sell them.

CAUTION: Sometimes there is a very low risk that peppermint may irritate mucous membranes. It is advised not to be used near the face of infants and young children. I keep the dilution rate below max recommended levels to minimize this possibility. However, it is always a good idea to check with your own or your child’s physician. It may also present a risk in cases of cardiac fibrillation or in those with a G6PD deficiency. Eucalyptus oils of all varieties present similar issues and are not recommended on or near the face of children under 10. I also keep the dilution rate of eucalyptus lower than max dilution to help minimize this possibility.

This product is not meant for internal consumption as eucalyptus can be very toxic when taken internally. However, no essential oils should be used internally without guidance from a qualified aromatherapy practitioner.
